Exhaust Manifold / Gaskets : Replacement

Preparatory Steps:

  • Remove the air crossover tube.
  • Disconnect the air intake and exhaust piping.
  • Remove the turbocharger, if used.

Using a 15 mm and a 13 mm wrench, remove the exhaust manifold and gaskets.

Clean the sealing surfaces. 

Install the exhaust manifold and new gaskets.  Torque Value:  43 N•m   [32 ft-lb]

Follow the tightening sequence shown in the illustration. Then, follow the same sequence and tighten the capscrews again to the same torque values.  Apply an anti-seize compound on exhaust manifold bolt threads upon reassembly.    Install the parts previously removed. Operate the engine and check for leaks.
